Taking Summer Pics? Prevent Overwhelm!

Before you hit “Upload All,” ASK yourself one or more of these four simple questions, to help you quickly cull those photos.

Keep the best and remove the rest, and your future self will thank you!

(These ideas are primarily from Joshua Becker’s book “Clutterfree with Kids.”)

Like sex, organizing can be way more fun with a little focus and excitement.

In this two minute video, I’ll share three big ideas to get you more engaged with and juiced up by organizing.

And never mind that these ideas are geared towards adults with ADD ~ I think we’re all slanted that way anyway, with our fast paced culture. So, stimulating organizing tips, here we come!

*** NOTE that these ideas are also excellent to apply to getting KIDS to put away / organize their stuff!

It all begins with the power of bold intentions.

Soul-declutterer Lauren Rosenfeld says, in her book Breathing Room,”Think of a beautiful resort ~ one with those gorgeous patios that are open to ocean breezes… where someone can truly relax, unwind, and completely let go. … Did the people who designed those spaces do so without intention? Of course not. A hotel without intention is not going to draw anyone…”

And so it is with our homes and offices. Without intention, clarity is a struggle. Without intention, clutter and frustration accumulate easily.

What do you want each room in your home to DO for you and your family? This 5 minute video will get your clarity-juices flowing!

I’m sharing a powerful learning from the research of Dr. Michelle Segar, who studies the science of motivation.

If YOU want to be less cluttered and more organized because you want your business to flourish, or your kids to be more organized, or your life to be generally better… these are GREAT reasons… BUT they might not translate into effective action.

So what reasons WILL more likely propel you into positive action? Click play to find out :-).

Thank you to Brian Johnson of optimize.me for introducing me to these ideas and SO many others.

Any crappy beliefs hidden in your files and drawers?

It can be humbling and overwhelming to realize that our thoughts and beliefs do in fact help to create our present and future realities.

You workspace ideally supports you in being your most aligned, powerful, money-attracting, client-attracting self.

Is it doing that as best as it could? Or are there old, limiting thoughts keeping you from bringing your full, valuable self to the world?

Let’s begin to clean ’em out!

Keep or Let Go? I don’t know!

For Sustainable Change, Love Comes First

What’s the first step in a decluttering project?

  1. Sort things into categories
  2. Throw our hands up in despair
  3. Give the clutter and ourselves some love

Though you’ll likely to want to do a or b, I’m suggesting that c is the best way to go.

When we look at our own clutter, so many emotions can arise ~ frustration, exhaustion, even shame.

And though we can certainly move forward into decluttering from those emotions, it is much more sustainable ~ for your energy, for your self-care, for lasting change ~ to begin with love.
